J. Rafael Ángel
I am a Pedagogical Director at an international school in Brussels, where I design professional learning for educators while continuing to teach. My work is grounded in the daily realities of teaching, learning, designing, iterating, and reflecting — and this lived practice shapes every partnership I build.
I believe professional learning should be contextual, intentional, and co‑constructed. I do not work with pre‑designed development packages. Instead, I collaborate with schools to design learning experiences that honour their culture, aspirations, and people.
As a multilingual international educator (Spanish, English, French, Italian), I see myself as an individual in a permanent state of learning. My background as a classroom teacher, programme coordinator, pedagogical leader, and language learner allows me to support learning communities from multiple perspectives and with sensitivity to diverse stakeholders.
My leadership experience includes roles as Head of Languages, IB PYP Coordinator, IB MYP Coordinator, Teaching & Learning Director, and Pedagogical Director. As an educator, I have taught Spanish, English, and French as additional languages; Language & Literature; Middle School Humanities; and Middle School Design.
I have taught and led in Mexico, the USA, Jordan, India, China, the UAE, and Europe, and currently divide my time between Belgium and Mexico.
